(Wonju Branch of Korean Arts Federation of
Gangwon-do Province)

Wonju Branch, one of representative associations specializing in practically all fields of arts, was established in 1996. Literature, craft, play and performance, painting, conjuring, photographing, music, imaging, dancing, and folk arts make each committee. Putting all these committees together, we comprise of Wonju Branch.

The establishment purpose of Wonju Branch of Korean Arts Federation of Gangwon-do Province is to promote activities of writers, creative plays and performances, arts classes, arts mentoring projects, festivals and events of traditional seasonal customs, culture policy study and researches, nurturing and training cultural artists, Korea’s traditional arts and arts activities shared with general public, and a variety of performances, etc.

We keep tyring hard to help promote the development of Wonju. ‘The 23rd Korean Arts Festival of Wonju’, ‘The 20th South Korea-North Korea Unification Wish Festival’, ‘The 16th Festival of Getting-together with Life Forms of Lacquering, Paper, and Soil’, ‘The 20th Danoje Festival with Citizens of Wonju’, and ‘The 7th Festival of Singing, Dancing, and Concert’ are some of our leading cultural programs to promote Wonju culture. We also contributed to the successful preparation of ‘Children’s Day Festival’.

Promoting general cultural life for Wonju citizens, we also make lots of contributions to help socially marginalized, vulnerable citizens enjoy cultural activities that are offered voluntarily by our members.
