As of 30 October 2019, eleven cities around the world have been newly designated as UNESCO City of Literature. Thus, including the 28 cities of literature that were already designated as city of literature and the 11 new cities of literature, a total of 39 cities in 28 countries around the world make up UNESCO Cities of Literature.
Cities of literature run their own Internet website designed to have website visitors learn about what they do as a city of literature.
